We care about what we do because the future of AI-enabled technology is, ultimately, the future of us.
- We cares deeply about our mission because the organization recognizes AI is transforming how we live and work faster than people can adapt.
- We believe society as a whole deserves to be informed and possess the tools and knowledge to stay empowered, productive, and safe in this disruptive age of AI.
Across industries and communities, the pace of technological change is outpacing our collective understanding of its human impact.
Artificial intelligence, automation, and synthetic media are reshaping how people live, work, and connect.
Yet not everyone is equally prepared or informed about what these disruptive changes mean for the mind, for identity, or for opportunity.
2 broad gaps, 1 ardent passion
At a very high level, we see two broad sides of the AI-enabled technology conversation:
- the innovative, AI-racing minded corporate side;
- and, generally speaking, the “everyone else” side.
Our organization cares about bringing these two collectives much closer together to develop solutions-oriented and strengthen joint understandings.
Bridging this important gap helps:
- Promote innovatively-humane progress and frameworks to important and growing AI development conversations.
- Introduce cyberpsychological paradigms to expand industry’s understanding of “human factors” across algorithms, synthetic content, and human–AI interactions.
- Chip away at bulky silos and increase more seamless and constructive dialog between developers and societal users; because understanding technology without understanding people — and understanding people without understanding technology — leaves the emergent AI and synthetic media picture vastly incomplete.
We’re not naïve
Though we toil in the space between innovative industry and broad swaths of people, we recognize there are disparate pockets of resistance and fragmented understandings throughout.
That’s exactly why we’re here.
And that’s precisely why we do what we do.
